Last updated: September 29, 2026 · App: Will My Ex Come Back? (com.bytelunalabs.excomingback) · Developer: ByteLuna Labs
We built this app for a painful moment, so we collect as little as possible. There is no account and no sign-in. We don't sell data and we don't show ads.
Your cases — what you wrote about the breakup, the signals you add, nicknames, dates, readings, scores, reports and counter progress — are stored only on your device, in a database encrypted with SQLCipher. The encryption key is kept in Android's secure storage. We cannot see or recover this data.
When you ask for a reading or add a signal, the app first masks emails, phone numbers, links and @handles on your phone. It then sends the masked text, the options you picked (time since the breakup, who ended it), the app language and a random install ID to our server (a Cloudflare Worker at excomingback-api.bytelunalabs.com).
The server passes the text to our classification provider (TypeSafe, "Jev") and returns category labels and numbers. The text is processed in memory only — it is never stored, never logged and never used for training by us. Nicknames are never sent. Before any network call, a keyword check runs on your phone to route you to support resources when needed.
The random install ID and your network address are used only for rate limits and abuse prevention, counted in short-lived counters. We also use Google Play Integrity to check that requests come from the genuine app on a genuine device; this check doesn't include your text.
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. Events contain only fixed ids and ranges — for example which verdict was shown or which screen was opened — never your text. Advertising ID collection and ad personalization are turned off. We use Firebase Remote Config to adjust app settings.
Purchases are processed by Google Play. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and restore the lifetime unlock; RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt and a random app user ID, not your cases or text. We never see your payment details.
Notifications are off by default and are scheduled locally on your phone. They never mention your ex, a score or a breakup.
We don't sell or share your personal data. The providers above act on our behalf (Cloudflare, TypeSafe, Google/Firebase, RevenueCat). A share card you create yourself contains only the verdict and score — never your text, nickname or details about your ex.
Settings → Delete all data erases every case, signal and report from your device immediately and resets your install ID. Uninstalling the app also removes everything. Because we don't store your text, there is nothing to delete on our servers. See how to delete your data. You can also turn on Settings → Hide screen content to block screenshots and recent-apps previews.
The app is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS. On-device data is encrypted at rest. Our server keeps no logs of request content.
