Talk to Ghosts collects anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. It shows no ads and does not sell your data.
Talk to Ghosts has no sign-up and no login. What you do in the app is stored on your phone and is removed when you uninstall the app.
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count anonymous events such as which screens are opened and which buttons are used, together with general device information (model, operating system version, country, language) and an app installation ID. It does not use the advertising ID. We use this only to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
When the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a report with the state of the app, the device model and operating system version, and an installation ID, so the fault can be fixed.
The microphone is used only if you turn on React to sounds, and only while a session is open.
While a session runs, the microphone measures how loud the room is. Nothing is recorded or saved.
The app computes one loudness value every tenth of a second in memory. No audio is written to a file, kept or sent anywhere.
Your sessions, words, hits and notes are stored only on your phone. They are never uploaded. Settings > Delete all data removes them, and uninstalling the app removes them too.
Analytics never include the words, your questions or sensor readings.
These providers process the data on our behalf: Google (Firebase): privacy policy.
Analytics data is kept by Google for up to 14 months and crash reports for 90 days, then deleted. It is tied to a random installation ID, not to your name or account, so we cannot look up or remove one person's data on request. Uninstalling the app stops all collection; a new installation gets a new ID. Questions: contact@bytelunalabs.com.
Talk to Ghosts is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
