TripSpeak teaches basic phrases for travel and works offline. Your learning data is stored on your device. We do not show ads and we do not sell personal data.
Data stored on your device
Settings (languages, goals, reminder time, optional trip date), lesson progress, review schedule, favorites and daily activity. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
Language packs
Some languages are downloaded once when you choose them, from our static file hosting (Google Firebase Hosting). This download sends standard request data (such as your IP address) to the host; we do not link it to you.
Analytics and crash reports
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. They process an app-instance identifier, device and app information and usage events (for example "lesson completed"). No names, e-mail addresses or lesson content are sent.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Google Play and RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history so your unlocks can be restored. We never see your payment details.
Optional account and cloud backup
If you turn on cloud backup (Pro), an account is created with Firebase Authentication (anonymous, or Google if you sign in). Your progress (settings, review schedule, completed lessons, favorites, daily activity) is copied to Google Cloud Firestore and is only accessible to you. Firebase App Check is used to protect the backup from abuse. You can delete the backup and the account at any time — see Delete your data.
Microphone and camera
Speaking practice uses on-device speech recognition; audio is not stored or uploaded by us. Menu and sign reading uses on-device text recognition and translation (Google ML Kit); photos are processed on your device and are not uploaded. Translation models are downloaded once from Google.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No push service is used.
Children
TripSpeak is not directed at children under 13.
